Expanding In-Person Services on Thursday, February 18

With the announcement that Waterloo Region has entered the Red (Control) Zone, we will be expanding in-person library services beginning Thursday, February 18, 2021.

All library locations, except for Pioneer Park Community Library, will be open on Thursday, February 18 for:  

  • In-person browsing 

  • Computer access (by reservation)  

  • Study seats (by reservation)  

Pioneer Park Community Library will offer expanded services as of Monday, February 22, 2021.  

Curb and Carry, our contact-free curbside pickup service, will continue to be available at all locations.

What’s Available (Drop-in)

  • Curb and Carry, contact-free holds pickup  

  • In-library holds pickup  

  • Browse our collection in person  

  • Printing, Photocopying, and scanning  

  • Faxing (Central Library only)

  • Computer Access

  • Study seats  

  • Access Centre


What’s Not Available Yet 

  • In person library programs/events  

  • Toys and play areas  

  • Toy collection at Pioneer Park  

  • Extended library visits  

  • Common seating areas  

  • Newspapers, magazines and musical instruments  

  • Study rooms and meeting room rentals  

  • Genealogy and local history research  

  • Audio and digital media production 


How We’re Keeping You Safe 

  • Occupancy limits, per Provincial guidelines 

  • Providing hand sanitizer and face masks, as needed 

  • Reorganized spaces for physical distancing, including barriers at service points 

  • Isolating all returned and heavily browsed materials for 24 hours 

  • Increased sanitation schedule 

  • Staff training on safety measures


What You Can Do To Help 

  • Stay home if you are feeling unwell, have a fever, new cough, or difficulty breathing 

  • Wear a face covering 

  • Practice physical distancing 

  • Wash or sanitize your hands before entering the building, and frequently throughout your visit 

  • Limit the duration of your visit
